Wild about Teignbridge
A joint event, by Teignbridge District Council and Action on Climate in Teignbridge, for local councillors, exploring “nature” projects and activities in the area.
There were four talks – one by Carly Ireland a Devon Wildlife Trust Ecologist who has been working with Teignbridge District Council and members of the public, to help protect and connect wildlife in development areas around Newton Abbot, Kingsteignton and Kingskerswell. Audrey Compton gave a talk about the Wildlife Wardens, and the brilliant work they are doing. TDC’s Sian Avon spoke about the story behind the creation of Dawlish Countryside Park and the new Ridgetop Park. Mike Waller talked about the new ‘Wild about Devon’ initiative, developed by the Devon Local Nature Partnership.
